Since it's not possible to be everywhere at the same time, having two photographers allows us to cover various events happening all at once. So is it really worth having a second photographer at a wedding?
If you are still reading this post you can obviously see there are so many benefits to having a second wedding photographer, but it wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t mention any potential downsides.
Coordinating an additional photographer can occasionally be challenging. Not only logistically but with artistic visions, style and possibly communication especially if they haven't worked together before, thankfully this is rare as us wedding photographers generally are cool people and have often worked together. If you are considering a second shooter for your day, ask me and I always have someone in mind who I can work well with.
Another downside would be that hiring a second shooter can also mean more cost and therefore, stretching your wedding budget a little further. Obviously this is a big consideration for you but what I would say is that if you want more detailed and thorough coverage of your wedding, hiring a second photographer is totally worth it. It gives peace of mind and results in an insane collection of photos.
